Can you play as a vegetarian?
As I'm a vegetarian in real life, I thought it would be a fun challenge trying to go through the game without eating meat, like those pacifist runs in Deus Ex. Is it possible? Are there animals that produce eggs, cheese and the like? Can you farm?

Definitely. You can pick berries, harvest eggs, and farm plants. You can get away without ever eating meat.

U can eat egg, berries and fish (idk if vegetarian eats fish) drink water and beer.

Can eat flowers too! If you're into that. :) But yea berries just don't give as much "food" like meat does. So you need a extra amount of berries.

i generally always ate berries when i first started, then once i found mushrooms i have never eaten anything else lol

Not really no (To cheese and the like), but there berries & vegetables which you can eat en masse if you like. If you want to be a vegetarian in-game, I would recommend having just a berry/veggie farm, a couple of veggie dinos if you'd rather not have any meat at all in your experience, and eating what you grow. Luckily, you can just eat wild berries till then, and since it doesn't take *too long* to learn piping and a crop plot, it isn't entirely unfeasible if that's what you really want to do.

Although, in addition to what you mentioned in your original post; It's possible that cheese may end up being a thing, I mean a sheep just got added so what's to stop a ancient breed of cow/yak or something from joining the ranks of ARK's creatures and allowing us to produce cheese and milk.

Hope I helped! Have fun in ARK Xenos!

Take a Theri or mammoth in the swamps and start munching on the plants and bushes there to get crap tones of rare flowers and swamp trees for rare mushrooms. They are more effective in replenishing your hunger and don't spoil. So farm it now and use it for a month or so.

Rare mushrooms is one of the best sources to eat so yeah once you find that out you rarely eat meat after that.

Thank you, folks. Looks doable:)

I feed myself only from mushroom and rare flower.
Not because i want to be vegetarian it is just because mushroom and rare flower not spoils.
Get mushroom and rare flower from beaver dam.

Eggs are baby animals, if you are vegeterian you shouldnt even think about eating those. Milk and cheese are also animal byproduct/come from living things and thus shouldnt be in vegeterian ration.

As for idea itself i'd suggest Primitive+ mod because there are way more options: different brews, honey bee hives, veggy recepies etc.

In normal ARK at later stages of the game you can live off custom recipes[ark.gamepedia.com] system as long as you dont add meat/fish/eggs. Plus custom foods/drinks restore HP/Stamina and weight 10 times less that original ingredients and have an increased spoil time.

Commercial eggs are unfertilized. They are actually single cells (as far as the yolk is concerned), like human eggs. And I think you're mixing vegetarian with vegan:)

Not all eggs are baby animals. There is also a difference between vegans and vegetarians, vegetarians are really only against meat.

You can make custom recipes out of like just berries and stuff, I bet you could make like veggiburgers and all that if you really wanted to :)
