ARK: Survival Evolved
Silica Pearls
Hi! I'm pretty tired of swimming into the deep with a Megladon to find silicia pearls and always getting killed by several Megladons or mosasaurs. So I'm wondering if there's another way of getting pearls than going down in the deep? Or If you have any good ''common'' spawning spot for trilobites? (Can't manage to find any of them near my house either, I live right over the dead island.) Thank you for the help!

Pearls can also be found on the small ice platforms of a few of the frozen sea cliffs. If your going for organic poly/oil/pearl in one trip.
The aforementioned NW icy inlet is where I get mine early game, when i dont have fortitude bumped yet. There are 6 nodes in the pond/stream and then maybe a dozen in the shallow water under the broken ice next to it.

There is a cave on the center map with pearls in it.

Is it danerous though? Would bet it's alot of scorpions and spiders etc.

Not really, it is usually empty when I go there. One time a saw a scorpion and beetle, just killed them easly with a rifle. The cave is on the Lava island and the entrance is very very hidden, hardest entrance to find I would say, the cave is very hush hush and secret. Check a youtube video to find it, hard to explain in words here. Just search for " ARK lava island pearl cave" or something. I would recommend taking grappling hooks with you.

There is also the new underground opening in the center map, big open place beneath the snow biome on the center, it is near the great waterfall, you go down to the side of the cliffs and there is a big huge open place under there. There is a big lake/pond there and it is full of pearls. Mostly salmon and coels in it. It is near the structures that are made of ice.

Beaver dams also have them, but maybe not in the quantity you want. Trilobites also drop them, but again, quantity.

So it's like in the shatterd ice in water? or around where the penguins live?

I use a frog with points in speed, I'm in the cave before the sharks get close. Also in the snow biome Left side of the map (west) they spawn in the shallow waters and can be collected fast. until I get a fast frog I use a raft to go there and collect them.

Sorry I just noticed you mentioned dead island, I don't play on the center so I can't help you.

No lol. You don't know what the dead island is? the island in the top right corner of the map.

Always heard it called Carno Island, I have never heard it called Dead Island. at the same time, some one I used to play with on an Official server had a basee near "Dead Island" on the center, or atleast that's what he called it.

Oh, I just got the name from KingDaddyDMAC, didn't mean to confuse you ^.-
on east coast of the island the little lagoons where it just turns to snow biom has plenty... also if you get a salamander they kill trliobites and loot them in one hit I get tons of oil and pearls this way

oh, ok ty
Dead Island and Carno Island are the same thing, a quick google search would have found this as the #1 result:

http://ark.gamepedia.com/Dead_Island
Strategy A )

+ Scuba Tank.
+ Scuba Flippers.

Profit.

Strategy B )

+ Mindwipe.
+ 150% Movement Speed.
+ Oxygen.

Profit.

Either way you outrun water dino's and you don't have to dismount a dino to pick pearls.
To tame an ichy, I wall off an area of the water with a gate in it, then lure an ichy into it, close the gate and tame it It's a real pain to place the fence foundations in the water. It's a real pain to build while not drowning.

It will be useful to have a safe place to leave your tamed ichy. You can typically only attract an ichy when you first encounter them while they are still curious. Later they will just ignore you and swim away.

This will work when you are lower level and don't have scuba gear yet.
