And you likely had your birds on attack my target but you weren't giving them a target. Put them on neutral, it always works for me.
All land and flying dinos will not attack anything whatsoever if it is in water, regardless of whether it is a land or water dino (or if the tamed dino is even being attacked).
I always put all my Dinos on neutral.. that's why this bothers me.. it should not have sat there like it was on passive.. unless the Baryonyx also has the secret ability to stunlock Dinos in water as well which would make it the most OP water mount in the whole game..
But it does live on water...
...and it eats fish, maybe its competition?
I tamed one early game with bolas and club (low lvl of course) and t was attacking everything on land and water.
when it gets low though it runs away to eat fish and goes full wolverine healing factor. extremly usefull dino especially early game.
