Can not build but it is green [SOLVED]
Why is it so that when i want to build something and it's green (so it should be good to place), i can't build it??? for example: a thatch foundation next to the other foundation with no other things surrounded, the ground is exact the same as the ground where the other structures are, so no too low, (i know this because i already played for 1300+ hours) and it's green before i click to place the structure, then i click it and it just dissapeared, when i try again, same thing happens.
Same thing happend for the fireplace i wanted to build.
We have own server, clean one, just started over again, so no other structures around.
It was on a flat land and it should be placable, but it didn't let me build it.

What causes this???

If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask me and i will reply. Thanks

I had a similar problem like this, I found out, in my particular case, that I was building too close to someone else's foundation but just the message wasn't popping up that I was. Is anyone else near where you're building or are you completely empty all around?

the whole is-green-but-wont-be-placed thing is very common in ark since the one update where they made supply drop zones to no build zones

in other words, if the structure appears green but gets unselected on click instead of placed, it means you are building to close to a supply drop zone!!!

(update to version 247.999)
* Prevented building near supply drop points on PvE (unless ?PvEAllowStructuresAtSupplyDrops=true)

so just do the ?PvEAllowStructuresAtSupplyDrops=true setting for your server and you can build at that place!

My question as the update note doesn't say is which ini file does the line go in to.

That is the server settings, if you run a server like we do, you can change some settings. In there is the settings we want to change it. I should have noticed this but i didn't so that is my fault. I found the setting and i gonna try it now.
I will all let you know.

I do at hosted site, but there settings editor doesn't list it, which is why I was wondering which ini file it goes in to so I can put it in manually.

On what site you host this server?

I am not sure where to go on that server, but on Nitrado i have to go to the server settings first, then on the left side i could choose Settings, then under Gameplay, all the way down, you see something like this: PvE Allow structures at supply drops

and turn that on. Then save it and restart server. That's how i had to do it.

Not sure how its done on that server but i guess the same.

Sounds like it might be the gameusersetttings ini file then, I'll have to check on it.

Well here it's not an ini file.
It's in the server settings.
I guess changing the ini file won't change it on the server but again, i don't know how that server is working. Here i never changed any ini file whatsoever.
All the settings are in the server. Let me know.
Progje Jan 29, 2017 @ 2:09pm
Well guys, it was indeed the setting TheNightgowl was telling me.
So again thanks TheNightglow :)

CrashandSever seems to have it in there config.bat command for the server, tried it there no luck.

you can also manually log in via ftp view and edit sever game.ini and gamesetings.ini
