Ark looks horrible on highest settings
Even though i have the graphics and settings to max, the game still looks pixelated and horrible. The trees and plants look horrible and overall just makes me want to refund the game. Can someone help me out?

You need to turn up the Resolution Scale almost at the top of the graphics settings.

I have my resolution is highest, but it still looks bad

delete -sm4 (causes bad graphic and errors but higher FPS)
delete -d3d10 (causes bad graphic and errors but higher FPS)
delete -lowmemory (causes bad graphic and errors but lower RAM usage)
don´t use preset launchoptions
always put res scale on max

Maybe your resolution is 400x600.

Hi hai you had same issues i had with ark a while back, i try'd as few things to run it cleaner and smoother, and theres a whack of reasons you could be having that issue, it could be your comp video card the cpu the motherboard the memory the ram anything that could be running maxed out would effect it even a fan not cooling properly can effect a systems performance etc or could be your net provider, first thing id suggest is check your ping rates for online play, then look at the performance of your system altogether with other stuff in background ark is the kind of game that demands alot from your system and its always a good idea to have a few gig extra in reserve for what ever you do with the computer, tracking the problem can be a pain so i would suggest looking at what most people run and go point by point to compare to yours sometimes this might reveal something you hadnt thought of like maybe a cheap part upgrade, for me i just built another system since i was running older componets, but you might find just a couple tweaks in the right spots will do the job, my comp has no issues with running it at max settings but i always drop down a few settings and tbh your eyes wont notice much of a difference at all, i run it constantly and only have 1 issue now when im playing for extended periods of time teamspeak occasionally makes my game drop, so that not being a ark game problem i learned to deal with it hope this gives ya some ideas.
good luck

are you sure u have your video cards setting in the gpu control panel set to highest setting possible , if u dont then that could be why it looks pixelated ,and not very sharp

u dont seem to have very high anti alaising settings looing the jagged edges of the stems ,

got to for example your nvidia control panerl and adjust the setting for quality and rerun ark

Looking at your screenshots, I think that's about as good as you can get it to look. Foliage never looks amazing at a distance or close up for that matter in ARK. Not even on epic settings. Or at least, not in my experience.

There might be some check boxes left to check that may improve the foliage somewhat, but I don't think it'll look much better than that.

Here's a screenshot of one of my alloses. As you can see, the model looks great but the trees in the background less so. I think everything except shadows are on epic ( they're on high) in this screenshot.
