Sorry for taking your thread off course OP, I don't suffer idiots very well, its a flaw of mine :)
Think that other guy has gone off to read his ABC's so should be good to continue.
Tbh what lured me into ark despite knowing it was a survival game was i was hopeful for an amzing world to explore.
but even on 1080p it looks like a ps2 game.
So that spoils that whole factor...what about forest and subnautica do they look good and run well?
if ark was like skyrim style gfx and a whole amazing world to explore i would defo be far more into it.
If YOU read the OP very original post, you can see they were clearly asking a question/for opinions on good mp/single players games. Nothing to do with "the last two pages" subnautica is a "single player survival game"
Maybe i not got the specs, but i play games like bf1 and they look great and smooth though i know this one not optimized well.
maybe ps4 version looks better?
This game has lots of intersting things to find if one explores or not really? just differnet types of dinos? or its worth to explore?
Thats whats appealing about multiplayer. You dont know who your neighbour might be.
Consols are locked to 30fps and 720p so when/if Ark gets well optimized it will outshine the consoles with 4k.
Having said that... consoles are fine... i just prefer the versatility of pc
Leveling up, training dinos and crafting are all mechanics that support my exploration.
But different strokes for different folks.
once u pick that server and a spawn point thats u for good? Everytime u want to play u have to go into that server? anyother server u start with nothing?
What if that server closes lol.
So anyway in the server does it spawn u far away from other humans/
and then if other humans find u can u join them or they will just kill u, steal ur stuff and burn ur base down lol
Official pvp you will face greifers. There are "good" official pvp servers.... just you wont know till youve wasted time.
If you want close to vanilla but unofficial ... they are out there... i play on one... raised rates.... zero mods.
Again you need to shop around.
Once u join a new server can u go back to old server with yuor base still their?
how big are the maps compared to population? once u spawn and start ur base other people will find u soon?
The weeker the build type... the faster it decays... thatch is 7 days i think.... metal up around 15 or so.
To be honest... trying to set up a base on more then one server is impractical unless you have several tribe members.
One base is ALOT of work. More then one on one server is common practice.... so many over more servers is mind hurting lol.
I honestly suggest you try a vanilla unofficial server 1st ... there is always the risk of child like admins with a god complex... but there are many that just want a hands off balanced server.... many have rules against greifing or raiding new players.
On ours just for example.. thatch builds and passive tames are off limits. If you get caught you get a warning raid... more and the admin will wipe you.
Edit: i should point out that if someone is clearly not a noob but builds a massive base out of thatch.... they void their warrenty lol
