Tek Armor Questions

Does the tek armor use element passively when equipped or only when using the abilities?
For example if I wear the tek helmet but don't activate the nightvision or outline vision will it still use element? and What if I go under water? can I use the better underwater vision and infinite oxygen without using element?

what better underwater vision ?
Element is consumed when u fly or super punch or run fast.
Normal running about will not consume element.

I thought I read that the Tek helmet gave better underwater vision like the scuba mask

tek only uses element when using the active ability.
eg - wearing the chest does not use elle, using the jetpack does.

Thank you Tomhud and Vorex. I was thinking of making a tek helmet to make deep sea loot hunting easier but didn't want to waste all my element. Can you confirm that using the tek helmet underwater doesn't use element? If not, I will probably test tonight.

Using it underwater does use element. It has to be powered to allow you to breathe underwater, it's not free. Using the night vision and radar underwater also uses element. I haven't tested if/or how much faster it burns through element if using both breathing and powered optics.

Yes to passively recharging. Yes it uses element while equipped underwater. You can use both enhanced modes at the same time above or below the water; NV + Target Silhouette are great in the deep or at night. If you're an admin and use the suit for faster moving around the helmet and gear still uses element even with the infinite stats command (where other standard items/armor don't decay or lose ammo). The Tek suit is great underwater as you can get around super quick (using the thruster).

Repeated, the helmet uses element regardless of using passively or using the enhancements, underwater. I think you get about 7-10 mins out of one element underwater just used as a helmet.

Tek suit does not give better vision in water.
You can use the scanner but that is not the same as giving a better Vision in water.
Try it in singleplayer and spawn in the suit and see for yourself.
