i was dead my first day trying to tame an squid when i leave the last wall in the map for the attack, apparently if you leave the map is instakill but you still alive, because dont can respawn in a bed and you can move the camera, but you are dead lol

That is a bug. Though the insta kill mechanic was done to prevent people from building/raiding under the map (yes, people did that).

lvl doesnt mean anything unless its against the same type of animal. You logic of a 150mosa should kill a 55 squid is like saying my lvl150 dilo should be able to kill a lvl10 rex

Hes mainly talking about a bug where the Squid gets a hold of the Mosa and doesnt let loose. The Mosa is also unable to deal any damage in return. This particular bug has been present since the Squid's release and has been overlooked despite many complaints.
Also FYI, a 150 tame mosa makes quick work of a 55 squid, just saying lol.

as someone who has tamed 16 squid...never once had this issue.

also, the super simple fix for this is to just hop off, whistle passive, whistle follow and swim away....thought everyone knew this.

Another suggestion as I have come across this bug frequently myself while on mosas, carry a xbow with some arrows. As soon as u notice the squid is bugged, hop off and start shooting the squid. Usually with the first couple shots it will spit ink and let go. Saved my mosas quite a few times now.

Decent way of dealing with the bug until it is actually fixed.

Tried that. You can see in my screen shot I was off and had it whistled :(

Did that, it did the ink stuff but would not let go of the squid at all. It did the move like it would to grab a Dino with my Dino already stuck to it. Glitched out totally

I had this problem about a week ago. I had to get off my mosa and kill the squid with a sword. I've been avoiding squid ever since.

Shared your pain when my 150 mosa was killed the same way. super pissed but what i do is i go tame a squid and get back at the stupid squid who did this to my mosa and from then i have squid for breakfast

Squid is tasty, so your solution is awesome.

I'm not going back out into the ocean for a long time. It took weeks to find that 150. The other squid i killed during the run had no issue, i even faced a 105 and was able to kill it. This one just couldn't let go, i wish i had my recording software, recently upgraded computers, so you could see how it was glitched. It was inking like crazy and making grabby motions with the mosa still stuck in its tentacle. Couldnt access its inv and yeahh....... just terrible to watch the slow process of it killing your prized mosa :(

I've also tamed countless of them, but with my dunkle as bait. This seems to only happen with Mosa's, based on my own experience. It happens when it grabs you for the second time, thats when it doesnt let you loose and not even whistling helps. You can also attack it till it uses its ink, but even then it holds on to your mount sometimes.

ACtually, now that I think about it, to all the past complains about this issue. Most have been mosas and plesis, don't think I seen and for the others.
