They don't need better textures than that; just going to sit on the ground and either despawn or be snatched up quickly with hardly a glance at them. The novelty of nice textures would wear off rather quickly and take up video resources.
Also, don't you think that old boxes have texture themselves?
The trick? open inventory type MEAT into the search bar at the top left hand side of that inventory and then hit the drop all button. Drops everything that you typed in. All in a nice neat little loot bag.
The mesh update womt help you, your gun would vanish in a pile of meat, so what?
Also what Jamahg said, dont drop with O, drop by filter.
The crystal looked more like a bag of salt to me. It should look like a crystal.
Or they cud add a "lock item" function to lock itens on inventory, to not allow us to drop them by mistake :P
