But why ? Because of chinese ?
Most Unofficials have multipliers which makes the game less grindy, thats a big reason for most.
Personally I like the grind and reliability of officials but I can see why people would stay away from them.
No. Primarily because of adjustable settings and the massive mod community. Most of this game is mod centric. Remember even wild card is sponsoring 4k a month stipends to mod makers and featuring their mods prominently on the main game screen.
The predominant number of unofficial servers as well are pve.
To me the performance, the high risk of asshats, and the inability to provide support when tames get lost to bugs are the dealbreakers, even though I do prefer to avoid increased rates or mods.
I understand what you mean about the official stability, but unofficial servers can have great stability if the admin knows what he is doing and plan on keeping the servers running for many months.
Official is way to grindy regardless of the "new" settings, or current settings that WC is using now.
I would say that most players cant justify the time requirements that official servers have. Remember too, that the current official settings are x2 from how they were for well over a year before they changed them permanently too.
But also once you get into using the massive options given with mods and how robustly it enriches game play and dynamics on servers, there feels like very little redeeming motivation to return to the skeletal options with official servers.
Right I work twelve hours a day and there is no way I can commit to what you have to with PVP. Worrying if my base was raided, taming, etc. I just dont have the time to do any of that. Unofficial servers and solo is my only option.
Soooo... i assume they got sth. like 10k new players via sale and the real number of left players is WAY above 20k
gg wp wildcard xD
cant wait for more nerfs like that, cmon we can do it, we can reach 10k active players average this year!!!!
You also failed to mention that they're still in the 70k peak range concurrent. Its not like conan exiles having similarly lost 12k players in the same time frame and now are down to 9k give or take peak concurrent. (actually CE lost 14k last month and so far over 2k this month)
Flying nerf as well was less impactful for the majority of players on unofficial servers that have imployed mods that mitigate that. Classic Flyers is up to 140k subs since it started in the same time frame.
still close to 600k playerbase, peak isn't the total players...
There really is no need for this.
Why do you feel the need to call people names because of the way they choose to play a game?
There are arguments for and against every play mode and it will suite various people according to their play style.
Don't forget the impotant point here, we are all here playing the same game, supporting the WC devs so they can deliver a great base game, there really is no need for an "Us vs Them" mentality when discussing official v unofficial.
A bit of maturity goes a long way.
