Best ways to tame Hyaenodon?
Even with a 20x tame server, petting it takes *forever* and not to mention the fact that it drops like 10+ lvls..Let alone being able to keep it cornered and unspooked.

So, has anyone found a really good way of getting them?

Hi Stone :p

Best way i found was to place a foundation and three walls then a hatch on top with four walls on top of it. Use an Argy to drop the Hyaen in teh top part and sneak under it and pet through the hatch.

what sucks about these guys is they don't respect servers taming rates so your pretty much stuck taming em as if they are on official, no kibble nothing, only about 2 to 3 points of tame progress per pet, so if you run your own server or in single player, just dotame them, save yourself the aggrevation

The easiest way I found is building 2 dinopens (4 to 5 small gates combined) and building them a little bit apart yet not too far. In 1 pen you drop the highest Hyenadon around and in the other any one you want to tame (you can put in alphas that are lower than the one you dropped in the first pen).

Then just press c and walk into the pen and dont stand up till its tamed ;) As long as you dont stand up and nothing attacks the pen the Hyenadon wont aggro. I find it easiest to do it on the side of the polymer mountain where the spawn a lot; that way there wont be other animals nearby to trigger them.

Yep I agree it stinks that it takes 10-15 min for any hyenadon to tame; there is little differnce between a lvl 20 or a lvl 76 (like 1% per pet only)

I'd like to point out that the knock out and tame method takes longer than this method, so I don't see everyones big problem with it. One way to tame one though is to catch it in the mouth of a kapro and carry it to where you want, then where a ghilie suit and pet it while it is still in the kapros mouth.

thing is, most knock out and tame method dinos respect the servers tame rates, i.e big difference taming on a 2x from a 10x etc, however the Hyaenodon ignores that taming rates and therefore defaults to whatever official servers use, which is 2x

edit: i mean even the gigantopificus and the horse respects a servers taming rates,

Okay, I understand now. Oh, another really quick way to tame a hyenodon in a second is to just use the forcetame command. LOL I know you want to tame it without commands, this was a joke.

My pve server has a max lvl of 300 which means it'll take hours w/o spooking it...GG...

Tameing is the main reason I and everyone I play with have moved to high rate servers, a grind is one thing but takeing more than 20 min to tame anything i think is way to long. Im never going back to offical rates, and imo thats what turns off alot of "newer playes" is that they go on an offical and get a little progress just to come back the next time they play to have all of it gone which i did many times but with the higher rates server you can build a decent deffence and maybe survive a few more nights

I just tried to tame a Hyaena for a few hours. Built a thing to put it in, etc. Halfway through its AI just spasms out and never resets.
I think this might be a case of developers not playing their own game?
Im sorry if this sounds harsh, but the way Hyaena taming works is pretty retarded.

Gonna ask admin to cheat me a pair tomorrow. Im tired of this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
