Help with hackers.
Hi, everyone. I own my own server and I've recently had a problem with hackers. I want to know if anyone has heard of a way they may be doing this. so far I've changed the admin password already and made sure that battle eye is on but this doesn't seem to have stopped them.

I first want to say that I do have turned up rates but not to a ridiculous level so getting gear and dinos is quick but doesn't take the piss too much. I noticed there might be an issue raided many of the tribes on the server seemingly out of nowhere. They were wiped but bounced back almost straight away with a new metal base, industrial forge, a procoptodon (261) and thaycaleo (169) replacing the ones they lost and raided the guy that had destroyed their base. The guys that they raided had a metal base as well but with turrets, nothing too fancy but it was surprising how fast they hit him back. These possible hackers were then wiped again and this time was found by myself hidden away and again, they had a high-level procoptodon and a thaycaleo only a day later. I don't know about anyone else but I find procoptodons hard enough to find legit. This could have been me just being a bit paranoid but I told another tribe where they were because I was very suspicious at this point that they weren't getting their dinos (or any of their explosives because they had done considerable damage to the metal base) in a legit way and they got wiped again a third time.

A day later I log in to find my base had been destroyed by level players that were level 989. considering 100 is the max level and my base was full tek tree base with tek turrets built on metal platforms I knew something wasn't quite right. I hadn't built the most defensive base in the world I'll admit because i'm admin and don't raid other people on my server unless they really deserve it I just kinda pve and keep to myself. Even though my defenses were a bit poorly place it still would take around 30 C4 to destroy a metal platform and more to break through the other tek walls they smashed through. only one tribe on my server at the moment has a metal base with turrets no one else was even close they were all fairly small. story over my suspicions was basically confirmed that people were somehow hacking due to the players level and the amount gear they had suddenly got.

Fortunately, my friend had also logged in at the same time as me and his base was getting attacked by this mystery tribe with a high level so I was able to ban them. I then went and rolled back the server to a previous backup which unfortunately was about a week prior and I put on offline raid protection which I didn't really want to do. I have lost nothing as I haven't really been active but many on my server have which I feel sorry for. Since this began many of the new tribe have been attacked and have thus left not to mention the people I'm sure to have left because of the roll back. I really want to get to the bottom of how this has happened so that I can get a healthy number of active players again. I'm not really active atm as most of my tribe left once we got the bosses done and we have no one to compete with as people are getting wiped before they evne have a chance to get going

unfortunatelty if you allow dl's they can quickly transfer to a server that one of them owns and ... viola they can re equip with cheats and transfer back. i havent used crossark transfers so this may not even be possible just a thought

If you have allowed downloading that can be one very easy way. They can simply use single player to make every thing in seconds then xfer over to your server. Thus turn off in settings your upload/download items/dinos settings.

Make sure you have admin commands logged just in case you've mistakenly given some one access in that regard that shouldnt.

If they are still managing to do all this after you've turned it off, turn the server into a pve one and let it stay that way for a while.

That all said, dont expect nor chase player numbers. Too often I see servers expecting too much in that regard and then getting burned out, turning a server into a wipefest every other week to advertise "fresh server" or "wiped server" (never attracts a good crowd those btw), or just shutting it all down. Have the server for yourself and your close friends and consider anyone else that comes along as a bonus.

Other things you can do if they still keep at it:

Use your admin commands to join their tribe, wait until they're off line of course, and unclaim everything, loot everything, and give it over to your tribe or others.

Cage their entire tribe, hancuff them, turn off food/water drain.
