Lost loads of structures since the last patch
I last played yesterday. today I log on and I have lost a massive amount of structures. A big house, breeding barn, creop plost, a load of foundations which included things like a grinder, smithy etc. Spent most of yesterday farming for a building a massive wall in the sea to keep my sea pets safe and today most of it is gone apart from a few wall panels which are floating in mid air without any foundations. The older stuctures that I built when I first started playing are all still there as far as I can tell and my creatures are all still here.

I'm playing single player. Anyone else had this?

Yeah, same here. Minor update before logging in and all s+ structures are gone.

They should put a warning on this crap. Forced update = everything lost.

How about a warning box, if you proceed with this update some mods will be broken would you like to continue.

How hard would that be?

It's the risk you take using mods. Not that hard to grasp...

it has nothing to do with the mod and everything to do with you now learning. after a mod updates in steam and you run ark you have to wait for it to finihsing installing in ark. it will show up in the bottom right of the screen. only once that has finished should you then proceed to play. also in single player check your mod list to make sure all the mods you want to run are in the list and that none are missing.

to rollback a saved game to a previous save check this thread as i cannot be bothered to retype this over and over.

+1 - user error not Update Error

Reverting to a previous ARK:Survival Evolved save.

Firstly you need to back up your saved folder incase of error, or something goes wrong.

1) Login to your control panel.
2) Go to the File Manager > ShooterGame > Saved
3) After clicking on the "Saved" folder, click on the Create Zip button.
5) Download this zip for your backups.
Before we go any further you need to know more about what the Saved folder contains. For your ARK to load correctly, three key files are required:

'TheIsland.ARK' - This is your current loaded save.
'xxxxxxxxx.arkprofile' - These are the profiles and configurations of players who have joined your server. These are created as people play on your server.
'xxxxxxxxx.arktribe' - These are the tribe profiles and configurations of tribes on the server. These are created as people create tribes on your server.

The server will load missing the player and tribe files however if you create a tribe and this file then got deleted/moved your server would not load your tribe information causing you to be tribeless. This is the same principle for player profiles.
Reverting your save.

Go into the "SavedArks" folder, and you will see lots of files, some of them will be in a similar format too: "TheIsland_22.06.2015_11.50.39.ark", which goes: MAP_DATE_TIME.

These are your hard saves, and you do not need them all, you only need the most recent few, as the older ones will no longer be used and just old saves, depreciated saves.

Rename the existing 'TheIsland.ARK' to 'OldTheIsland.Ark' then find the "TheIsland_22.06.2015_11.50.39.ark" file you wish to use and rename that file 'TheIsland.Ark'.

Once you have done this, 'start' your server and you should be all set to go.

If you require any assistance at all with this please contact the Support Team.

Thanks guys, I got it working now. I guess the mod hadn't finished downloading before I loaded up my game (even though it said it had) and so I reverted to yesterday's save file.

for your issue to occur the mod would not have been in your mod list in the ark single player game when this happened or it was not updated properly in the game. as in you did not let the install finish before you started the single player game. saying when it updated in steam only proves that. steam first downloads the mod into \steam \steamapps \workshop \content. then when you launch ark, ark installs (bottom right of your screen) to the \steam \steamapps \common \ark \shootergame \content \mods folder. only after this happens does the mod work. if it is interupted then you will get issues like this and have to do a rollback of your save game and fix the mod install. most of the time to fix the mod install you would have to unscbscribe then resubscribe to the mod and let it install properly.
-Automanage mods will do that.
