What is the easiet way to kill an Arthropleura?

I'm curious because I was in the lower south cave the other day and 6 of them nearly killed my high level Carno, and if you're wondering what level I'm at on the technology tree I'm at the early fabricator stage, where I have a fabricator but not an electrical generator.

Does the wolf have more health than a level 63 Carno? cause it better be freaking worth it if I have to to the stupid north.

Yeah I have a long neck but cherish my chitin armour too much to risk it. =3=;

Just got to focus on getting to them quickly then I guess.
I'd look for a saber over a wolf though, just because of the saddle.
A good saddles saves you a lot of time in caves.

i'd recommend using a longneck from back of a decent mount a high damage longneck will kill them with 1-2 headshots and if it dont will still weaken them so can kill using mount without taking to much splash back damage

How??? whenever I go in the cave there's never just 1 arthro, at the minium there's usually 3, at most ((this may not be the most since I ran out of the cave when I saw this since my carno nearly died)) there are 6, with the longnecks long reload time and the arthros ranged attack, I don't think being on a mount with a gun is the safest idea, if a good idea at all.

heres the issue, your carno just wasnt very high lvl, you need atleast lvl 100+

Did you even read the discussion??? I'm early fabricator level, NOT at the level where I could easily whip up enough kibble for a level 100 one, also if you're gonna say I need to be able to get a level 100 carno to go into the cave, I'm gonna laugh, cause the wiki said this is the easiet cave.

you have been told 3 viable options here:

1) snipe of the back of a dino from a distance, you will kill each one with one or two shots so thats 12 shots MAX against 6, i doubt they will kill your "high level carno" in that time? if they can then your carno is ♥♥♥♥.

2) tame a better dino level 100+

3) tame a decent level sabre and find a good saddle to use on it and euip a good pike and just hit it whilst the dinos attacks them.

or another option is to kite them back and try to find tight spaces in the caves where they all cant get to you at once and fight them one at a time.


if you dont want to do any one that then just accept you arnt ready to take one the caves yet or try ane asier one.

If I remember right carno has 2 attacks, one of them with better AOE than the other.
Been a while since I used one, but I do remember struggling hitting with them.
Other mounts might be better suited just cause of better attack angle.

And nope you don't need a 100, just that the higher the easier really.
First times I did that we did it on foot with just primitive gear.
Took a while though :)
