Weird Keyboard/mouse button issue
Ok so this is weird. Now,. the keyboard and mouse buttons will become unresponsive just randomly. Like for example, I am using W to walk forward and then use my mouse to turn while still holding down W, it will just stop. The keyboard isn't responding nor the mouse buttons BUT, if I turn BACK to the direction and angle I was at before the issues happened, everything works again. IF I stay at a certain angle, I can then turn and move without that problem but as soon as the angle is different, all response stops until I have the perfect angle and direction again.
I wonder if its some sort of input lag or something but why now? Never had an issue like this before.

I have swapped out the USB 3 ft cables on both, tried different USB ports on the back of the PC. This problem only happens in ARK and nothing else. All other games and programs don't have this issue. I play other FPS and RTS and MOBA and MMORPG games and no problems. So any ideas as to why only ARK is doing this?

I've been having strange issues where I will perform an action (mouse keyboard) like move an item into a crafting station. I will see the item get transferred and suddenly it's not and back in my inventory. Just slight odd things happening. And definitely have been experience mod items vanishing. Not just from a specific mod, it happens to multiple items. Started about the time they did the un-official server patch last week.

Just one question, does this happen in both full screen and full screen windowed modes?

You know, I haven't tried that. Let me see right now and will let you know.

Nope, no difference. But a new wrinkle.

So if I stay at the angle I have in the screenshot here, I can turn, attack, move, interact, everything in the game as long as I don't move from this angle. If I do, I then have to be at the same angle and direction I moved from then stay in that angle to work once again.

Do you by chance have a second monitor you have positioned (in the resolution config) above this one?
garth033 May 19, 2017 @ 2:48pm
Also, what OS are you using?
Etuha May 19, 2017 @ 2:56pm
Windows 10 Pro 64bit

I did have 2 monitors, side by side. Game one was left, all other stuff right. But, had to take it down to 1 now as I have to be in a different area and using VGA-DVI to the TV for a monitor right now.
You are not thinking something to do with the monitor config is still stuck in ARK config? Or reinstalling the nVidia drivers (clean install)? But why only ARK?

No, I have a similar problem of losing control, but I play in windowed full and Ark does not hold the mouse border.

Only thing I can have you try is repeatably drawing your mouse down to see if you can trap it in the game window. Drag it down the length of your mouse pad 3 times then look up.

Try running without battleeye?
Nvidia appears to install NVIDIA Experience control apps that the anti-cheat code may think is a bad app.
it is possible if you uninstall nvidia experience and reinstall latest version and latest drivers, it may work. Worked once for me.
Also check other USB apps running on your machine. Microsoft's switch to apps messed up some of the older USB mouse / keyboard control apps for me, I removed old ones, changed programs and mice and switched to the new Creators version of Windows 10 to solve most of my lingering issues. Using a USB wired mouse now instead of wireless. Too much interferrence from wireless everywhere.

I am having similar issues but not to the extent that OP is experiencing. I don'y have BattleEye installed. I lost the ability to make all my tames unfollow or stay in place by whistling "U" even though it is mapped correctly. The sound generates, but nothing happens. Also, right before typing this, I lost the ability to sprint (left shift). It just stopped working out of the blue - same thing that I experienced with "U" not working. Files have been validated, client and servers are up to date.

Think we are on to something, garth033. If I only keep doing left turns, not to the right as my old monitor config was 2 and the 2nd one was outside the game, I have no issues. Going to try fullscreen again, save, apply then restart the game. Funny thing, I changed the settings to Fullscreen and Hit Save then Apply and the game crashed with a fatal error. Sounds like Wildcare to me. ::facepalm::

I didn't put that malware crap on my PC. :) So no problems with that. And yes, I heard all the BS stories of how BE is so good and all that but the company has a shaky, shady background and I just see BE as malware and not to be installed.

OK so! How to lock the mouse into the game then? Even in Fullscreen, it will still "travel" out of it thinking I have a 2nd monitor.
