Fur armor is useless
Whats the point of have full fur armor, when you still freeze to death? Also, My fortitude is at 20.

20 fortitude is pretty low.

Regardless i shouldnt be freezing to death, i even built a fire, im still freezing,

at night, in the arctic, you would need shelter clothing AND fire to survive.

But yea i get what you mean, just remember there are higher quality Fur Gear that would likely help out much more, the starter level fur gear isnt much help.

the weather can be harsh- 1 fire and 20 Fort isn't going to do it on cold nights or in the snow biomes. 2 fires minimum (stand between them) and more Fort will help.

Freezing isn't on / off, it is subject to the temp which is dynamic and freezing with fur and 20 fort is possible, especially on top of the snow mountains at night but if the game rolls a low temp during the day then you will freeze if your insulation isn't enough.

It's very easy to work out what temperature that would be because you know your thermal insulation and the point at which you would be cold and freezing so just a matter of math to work out temp ranges.

good point, multiple fires or torches help a lot. also build a small hut to put them in (structures have an insulation value) even thatch will help some but wood gives more insulation. you should be able to survive the night this way till your Fort is higher or like me you just work around the cold

fortitude 30, journeyman hat and shoes and i can go without anything else (but i usually wear some ghille parts for not aggroing) even in the middle of a blizzard

Bump it up to 30 fortitude and wear full fur armor, then you should be fine. That's where mine is sitting at and I've spent a lot of time in the snow biome. Only very rarely do I need to break out the torch to get that extra warmth.

^^^^ ridiculous lol

Honestly I don't mind so much that full Fur armor doesn't protect you completely from the cold, what I do mind is how heavy it is compared to other armor. Especially when you consider cost vs reward, it is so heavy and it doesn't even do its job well (unless you have better quality armor).

At least it isn't Chitin armor, that is the ultimate example of an armor that doesn't do its job well.

Well, my fur armor set is made up of 1 Ascendant, 2 Mastercraft and 2 Journeyman pieces.
On the upper west side of Frozen Fang I have a small mining camp. Flying there at night I can still sometimes get a snowflake, no ice cube.

I just stay in the hut until daylight. I use the cold as the excuse to stay indoors, but actually because of who lives in the neighborhood.

What's wrong with chitin?

Zero fortitude and I wear Mastercraft/ascendant flak with an acscendant fur chest piece only. 400 hyperthermic from a bp found in the ice cave. If it gets too cold sometimes taking out the torch helps.

Realistically, no matter how well prepared against the cold, the cold will always creep up to you. You just take away the edge enough to be comfortable.
