DX12 or Mantle or Vulkan
Hi Guys know anybody when will on of these Render Methodes come? With the SLI Profile my Graphic Cards are only at 50-60% (2x GTX1080 with almost 2GHz). My Upgrade from a 3770k to the 7700k give a little punch in the fps but not more.

My System
7700k @ 5GHz
64GB Ram
2x 1080 @ 1987MHz

Display
1920x1080 @ 144Hz with Gsync

I have all Settings maxed out in the Game but in some Situation i drop down to 40-50 fps. The most time i have 60-70fps.

Mantle is dead... AMD/ATI gave it's corpse to the gods at Khronos Group and they used their magical powers to raise Vulkan from it's ashes..

Since 2 Years we wait for the 20% Performance boost of DX12 but nothing Happen. When will it release or is this also Dead?

With your system the DX12 support will basically do nothing for you. I believe WC didn't want to release it because either AMD or Nvidea didn't support ARK but the other company did and WC thought it wouldn't be fair to implement it for some and not others. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ excuse as always and thats the last I read about it.

Vulkan would be the best, look at Doom 120 fps with easy with a mid pc. Dx12 will come to Ark 15-20% Performance Boost.

This game needs severe optimizations.

Oh yeah Doom runs excellent on Vulkan, big difference.

And you'll probably wait another 1-2 years before another false statement is made by the devs where they say that it's some other companies fault that dx12 isn't ready yet while in reality they just don't have a clue on how to work with it.

It is easier just to blame someone else though.

first problem: SLI (dont work well for ARK with almost no gain)

mantle: is death. both, DX12 and Vulkan, have most of its code implemented.

Vulkan: sadly only a special snowflake that will vanish against Microsoft (it is better than DX12, but almost nobody supports it)

DX12: with your PC you will see no change between DX11 and DX12 (maybe it will work even worse since Nvidia has still problems with it and SLI/Crossfire does not work with DX12)

but even big multi million $ AAA-devs with direct support from MS fail at a DX12 implementation. it will take quite some time before devs can use this API the right way.

so you still think a small indi-studio without DX12-knowlege will implement it and gain 20% perf??

PS
there is currently only one game out there that runs fine with DX12: Sniper Elite 4.

Nope....

Take a fully optimized game like for example BF1 and compare DX11 / 12 there. Maybe its a 2-3 % performance boost....

The only application where you really see that difference is the benchmarks. But there isn't any game that has a boost of 10 -15%

So i don't give any .... on it anymore because it won't solve the performance problems.

Yeah the game needs optimization and devs said its coming by the end of the month but honestly dont expect much because how the game works.

100 ppl building whatever they want and throwing 500 dinos inside, there is no possible optimization to make it run smooth, simple like that. I cant understand how hard is to ppl realize that. What everyone loves about the game is exactly what makes it run poorly.

Only way to do that is downgrading graphics and animations, if devs do that for ppl gain 10 fps, is it worth it? It doesnt IMO.

Unreal engine began working on adding vulkan support to UE4 in April which was listed on their roadmap (https://trello.com/b/gHooNW9I/ue4-roadmap).

However they have since updated the roadmap and the new one doesn't show what they are working on/planning to work on anymore so no one knows if they have carried on or actually started it.

If they added vulkan support to UE4 that would be half the job done but WC has modified the engine quite a lot so who knows how much extra work they would need to do to get it to work properly.

Vulkan won't make a big difference either. DOOM runs great without Vulkan also.
