Half-pipe (Am I missing something?)
Was messing about for awhile today due to the newest update, and decided to try my hand at a re-loadable catapult. I saw the half-pipe block, and assumed (rightly, imo) that it was specifically intended to funnel boulder / flaming ball / bomb - sized objects.

Lo and behold, after I build a prototype contraption, I am unable to place any of those objects.

Do I really need to go through the hassle of building a loader for my loader?

Seems like a bit of an oversight, to me, unless someone can shed some light on something I'm doing wrong.

I build the "cannon" part of a gun with half pipes on top and bottom...but where the ammo loads i only have a half pipe on the bottom...so i can load from the top or sides.
Using just half pipes on the bottom still guides fire balls and boulders nicely.
But you cannot place an object "on" a half pipe. If you were to use a spring for launching and had it attached to a decoupler block at the back of a half pipe cannon, then you would have to place the boulder on the decoupler block (which will put it inside the half pipes)

Hope that helps. It would be nice if they had made it so boulders and fire balls could just be placed on the half pipe.

Ah, I see what you mean. I hadn't thought of a cannon-type weapon yet.

I was wanting to use them as a sort of 'hopper' to hold several rounds of ammo, which I could then roll one-by-one into a holder after it had fired and reset.

You have a surface for the half-pipes. Before you actually add the half-pipes, though, add 1x1 blocks on top of the surface and then you can put the bombs/boulders/etc on top of these blocks. After that, delete the blocks and add the half-pipes inbetween the surface and the bomb/boulder/etc.

:O

Sneaky. I like that, lol. I'll be sure to give that a shot next time I'm in-game.

(I still think it should've been a standard function, but so long as there's an easy workaround like that, I'll mumble "alpha" and get over it.) :p
