(solved) CANNOT get past Zone 50/51
second time I’m typing this all out, thanks to the Steam app crashing every 5 minutes. Thank you, Valve

What the title says. I can’t get past either of these areas, and since both this game’s community and this update are relatively new I couldn’t find anything online.

Zone 50, Raid, seems possible, but I have no clue for the life of me of what to do. Dealing with the spear-throwers ALL over the clifftop and the beefy troops on the ground is hard; you can barely pack enough stuff inside the bounding box to deal with all of it. Carpet bombing won’t work, as the spear-throwers on the cliffs are too scattered to all be killed by the bombs, and attacking from the ground is ludicrously difficult because of the chargers.

Zone 50, Strange Artifact, is outright impossible. I’ve fit both shapes into their respective holes several times, but one always seems to not register for whatever reason. Apparently the fitting is so specific and sensitive that it’s up to chance whether or not it actually works; I saw Vinny Vinesauce beat it the other night after a ridiculous amount of time, he couldn’t beat Area 50 either, and even when he finally did get it, he said he had no clue what finally triggered it to work. He just fiddled around with the shape like I did until it ‘fit’.

Are there any machines or tips you guys could spare? I love this game, but these two levels are driving me insane.

As for zone 51. I was trying to help someone with this the other day. It turned out it seemed to matter which face entered the holes first. When I do it I use a grabber so grab the visible side and therefore put the hidden side in first. He was doing it in such a way that he effectively flipped it over so put the visible side in first. When he put the hidden side in first he succeeded. Here's the thread about it:

Thank you so much! Unfortunately I had to give in and use the build on the workshop, but I’m past it. Thanks :P

Yeah, sometimes it's easier just to use a workshop item.
I find some zones can be really tedious and/or laggy (like PENITENT TOWER) and even the workshop vehicles struggle. So just setting a bunch of cannons can usually get you by a level you don't like. You will need 'Advanced building' switched on so you can fine tune angles.
