Although I chose not to make any announcements before taking the game down — mainly to avoid triggering impulse purchases — I still feel I owe everyone an explanation. I thought no one was really interested, and I just wanted to quietly do what I had to do.

After the discount ended, the refund rate kept climbing. It hit 20% on release day, and the refund rate for the period after the discount ended was close to 30%.
[Between April 11 (11:03 PM) and April 17, there were 46 new purchases and 13 refunds — a refund rate of about 28.3% during that period.]

I feel like Steam just isn't the right place to sell a game this short—maybe it's just not what players are looking for. I think giving prior notice would only lead to more impulse purchases, so I figured it's better to just quietly take it down without saying anything.

I checked earlier and I still have the ability to update the game, so for those who already purchased it, there's no need to worry.
I've already contacted Steam to let them know that I still have an update in development, and I hope Steam won't close my developer account too soon.

This was my first time releasing a game on Steam, and I was shocked by the refund rate.
I'll still be around for a while, at least until I finish this upcoming update. Thank you all for your attention and interest.

Just to clarify: I never generated any Steam keys for this game, and the ability to create new ones has already been disabled by Steam.
