that was great
I dont think anyone would have cared if all it did was just make her dance a little.
Any other game and complaining about the lack of a dedicated dance button would be insane, but I can definitely see your point! (I never played the older games but I get that that was a big part of them.)
The original gba had both the best and the worst system. In that one pressing select would make the music change and shantae would start to bop around, the. Pushing any of the other buttons would make her do a dance move.
The idea was to chain the moves together to create the dances to teleport or transform. The timing had to be very precise so it could get hard. However. It was insanely awsome that you could just make her freestyle dance anytime/anywhere just for funsies ^^
What I miss the most was the Harpy dance though. That same dance turns you into a mermaid in RR, which is kind of cool, but the harpy was the best! The talons did soooo much damage that once you got used to the awkward drifting walk and the flight system, there was no point in playing as a human. Personally, I thought she was pretty cute as a harpy too.
I think Wayforward knew their fans would be saddened by the lack of dancing, so that's why they added the princess escape level to make it up to them.
