weird, he really didnt like the 2nd act, which i thought was an all-around improvement.
Also lazy does it no justice, when it has puzzle design and content that far exceeds the first act. You could complain about the reused assets, but that would be silly since it only does what any 10+ hour game would do in having you revisit locations. People judge it differently because of the kickstarter and the time it took.
This. John Walker hated Deponia for dumb reasons and i enjoyed those games quite a bit. I wouldn't trust his opinions when it comes to these games.
It'd be like me reviewing an RTS game. I hate the RTS genre, so any review I did of an RTS game would automatically start off on poor footing and wouldn't give it a fair shake.
That said, reviews are just informed opinions (I know because I do a lot of them for a review website) and not everyone will like every game. I'm sure there are games I gave poor review scores to that other people loved and vice-versa.
