Political Influence is a terrible idea and horrible addition to the game
Political influence makes the game boring. I enjoyed 1.3 outside of a few issues. With 1.4, I feel like I'm in handcuffs. I simply can't do any of the things I need to do to accomplish my goals. It's all stopped by political influence points which I cannot increase outside of a monthly ticker. This is insane. In what universe did the game need to be slowed down? Why did you think political influence points were a good idea? What is the point?

You claim it's to take the pressure off of legitimacy. Except the player can address legitimacy in multiple ways, including estate actions and the legitimacy sliding scale in the economy tab. That allows for meaningful gameplay decisions. Political influence basically says "you no longer get to make decisions, you must play the game the way I want. Slow down." Who green lighted this idea?

I thought 1.3 worked pretty well. I had thought that 1.1 worked pretty well too! Only real issues were performance, some bugs (England not using transports), and a few values that needed to be changed (mercenary cost scaling).

Instead of grabbing the low hanging fruit, you have decided to rework entire mechanics every single patch. And in general, you're making things worse not better. Why spend so many hours on work no one wants? What is the point? Why haven't you been fired and replaced?

Paradox, please stop ruining your titles. Something clearly went wrong when with Imperator and it seems that the devs are determined to make the same types of mistakes over and over again. They appear to be incorrigible.

They should allow to make decisions even if you have no political influence. And then it should cost you stability and/or legitimacy. Like "if you really need it and need it now, go on but know you will destabilise your country".

Brilliant! But now that a community member has had the idea, it will never be allowed.
the whole point of removing hourly ticks was to improve pacing then they go and add a mechanic that totally blocks you from being able to do anything without sitting and waiting, horrible decision that adds nothing to the game, it annoys me more the more i play
i got a question.. does it take pressure off of stability as well?

Not really. Infact, they even added a stability cost for changing laws through the parliament and they nerfed the peasant stabilty button from 20 to 7.

wonderful. the one thing that the political influence thing is supposed to do, take pressure off of treating stability and legitimacy as a form of currency, isnt done. and they made it worse.

im fine with mana if its used properly. take, for example, cyprus. id be fine if i used up all my political influence changing my religion, and then culture, without incurring a massive stability loss.

I completely understand where you are coming from. But in my experience, it is possible to plan for those massive stability losses and the player has tools to deal with it.

There is no way to increase your political influence. If you don't have enough, you cannot do what you want. No choice. No ability to change it. No ability to incur a massive penalty if you think it's worth it. Just a ticking mana point that decides how much game you can play.

I mean, you can easily get +1.0 political influence each month, which is like 8 and a half years for 100 political influence. So basically every two parliaments you can reach 100 political influence and its most usage is in the early game for getting privileges.
