EU5 1.4 Beta – Orthodox Zealot Rebellions Make the Ottoman Empire Unplayable
I have started as the Ottoman Empire around 10 times, trying different approaches each time. I expanded, stayed small, changed religions, and tried many different strategies, but no matter what I do, I constantly face Orthodox Zealot rebellions.

The rebellions happen over and over again, to the point where playing the Ottoman Empire becomes almost impossible. The economy eventually collapses because I cannot keep up with the rebellions. The rebel armies become extremely large, and after suppressing one rebellion, another one starts shortly afterward, often spreading across almost all of my territories.

At some point, there are so many rebellions that I have nowhere left to recruit or mobilize civilians from.

I understand that managing religious minorities and unrest should be an important part of playing the Ottoman Empire, but in the current 1.4 beta, the frequency and scale of Orthodox Zealot rebellions feel extremely excessive. It makes the Ottoman experience frustrating rather than challenging.

I hope this can be looked into and balanced in a future update.

I am in 1.4 beta as Ottomans, there have been some rebellions but nothing I can not handle. make sure you have subjects in Orthodox areas, rebels only appear in one country so if you split your Orthodox provinces with vassal, you effectively halve the rebel strength.

The problem is, I’m trying to expand without even taking new territory—I’m just trying to convert the religion—but it never works; rebellions keep breaking out constantly. I spend all my time suppressing them and lose my population in the process. I swear, I don't even want to acquire land; I tell myself I'll just wait it out, but it still doesn't work. No matter how many different approaches I try, I just can't make any progress.
But as tony said, did u create fief or vassal on these region ?
Yes, rebellions are breaking out among my vassals too; if they don't happen to me, they happen to them, and if not them, then me—there isn't a single moment without a rebellion; I'm going to lose my mind.
But you want rebels pop up in multiple countries because they are much smaller in size and can be easily crushed. If you have one huge country then you will also get one huge rebellion. All your vassals will help you kill these rebels too, no need to waste your own levies.
Are they integrated? I gues you really wanna make one-two province fiefdoms that convert to to Sunnism.

But it does prove the point how broken the Spiritualist-Humanist balance is bad in this game and the overall no real way to handle them.

N ow in historic ways Ottomen just crushed them every single time until they just stopped forming. They never truly converted them but just overseered them.

This is made the whole Russia's Greece-Bulgaria and Austrian-Hungary scenarios happen.
Historically, the Ottoman Empire allowed everyone within its territories to practice their religion freely—even permitting them to adjudicate cases according to their own legal customs—and refrained from interfering with the various peoples, leaving their languages and homes untouched; consequently, apart from internal schisms within Islamic sects, no rebellions occurred until the era of revolutionary change.
