I need someone to give me some tips on 1.4 economy...
I have more than 300 hrs on eu5 but right now after so many iterations of the same game I think I've lost the plot and can't keep up economicaly.

My last gameplay was with Poland, played to like 1600~ something and had 3k tax with 8 mil pop, but my neighbour Hungary and Bohemia both had more than 4,5k with less pop than me.

I need someone to give me a quick run up on whats now really profitable, because this ♥♥♥♥ constantly changes and I can't be bothered to watch another 50 minutes guide on another patch devs come out.

Lets say the target country is Bohemia. Whats the most important buildings to upgrade? Whats the priority?
Is making every location a city still meta? Whats with pop growth? Is spamming granaries everywhere still viable? I head it was nerfed, not sure how.

8 mill. by 1600 as Poland is having a bad run. Why not try the same country a few times in a row, refine your method. Try diff. value focus and see which gets the best result. Control buildings first ofc, but I'd be focusing more militarily as Poland probably.

Same with bohemia, especially control on high value RGOs specifically, and also likely better to focus militarily beyond that. With either, do a few runs back to back and refine based on prior mistakes.

Well, thats not counting the vassals. Also I tend to not play aggresively. There were also multiple additional plagues in the late 15s and early 16s but at the halfway of 1600 I've kinda hit a dead end where I've capped myself economicaly while trying to raise my military to a similar level of my neighbours. Probably didnt help that I've tried doing "cavarly only" and at 50k regulars I've hit 1200 maintenance in mil buildings and 800 on military alone white not even reaching the numbers the rest of AI was fielding
The economy is more like Victoria 3. Where the price of a good is balanced by supply and demand. A large supply will cause the price to sink. Towards that "Target Price". This makes all your building produce "LESS" ducats, thus your economy is less profitable.

You have to balance supply with demand. That is why there are eco loops that cause the overall supply to increase giving you needed flex. IE 10 tools in a market will swing wildly with one building, but 100 tools won't. This increase the stability of your market allows you to build way more buildings. So focus of positive feedback loops.
lumbermills -> tools -> weapons -> coal -> lumber mill -> tools [ect]

This is why some of the best econ buildings are actually the demand buildings like libraries and hospitals. Since they increase demand for so you can balance production with demand and scale the eco. At some point you'll be big enough to not give a single "F" and just slap shift click on most profitable building and walk away.
