the food situation is absolute maddening. Almost all my markets are starving even tho I max out food production I add subventions for food I create trade orders for food, I even choose the food parliament issues, I replace as much non food resources with potatoes and maize etc., but as soon as I buy 30k mercenaries entire provinces are starving and I am losing 130k pops a month. I can't even imagine to have a standing army, I only use mercs. This is absolutely insane I have no idea what the hell this balancing is.

EDIT: I am pretty sure this has to do with the small ice age event, it is definitely too overbearing.
