Disney Deposes FOX - Is there a future?
I just have to pose the question. Does anyone think there is a future now that FOX has been removed from the picture (no idea what rights they gave up)? Could this be the deal that locked everything down for so long? I offer no confirmation or rumors, just hope that the future has gotten a little bit brighter.

Does anyone know anything that they can pass along?

Really just the comic books and novels, I'm afraid. Nothing has been said on the Disney side (afaik), and Whedon has repeatedly said that he has no interest in returning to the TV or movie side of the franchise.

That being said, it would be nice :2016yeti: There are quality fan films out there such as "Bellflower" in the meantime.

Unfortunately the gag order has probably passed from one company to the other, so us hopeful few are still stuck in the dark.

Hmm... Well thanks for the replies. I sit here in my Lets Moon 'Em shirt hoping there is a resurrection story out there somewhere. I'll have to check out Bellflower... Thanks.

Hope that turns out true. Murdoch is an arse-hole (which is one of the kinder things he's called in the UK, given his near monopoly via SKY, and their 'variable' pricing schemes) for killing the show, no doubts there, but if he saw a 10c profit in selling it to Disney he would have. Disney however, NEVER buy an IP without turning a profit (Star Wars anyone). They don't always do it well (Chewbacca and the Space Penguins?), but they won't just sit on a potential cash cow for long, the ALMIGHTY BOTTOM LINE knows no favoritism.
From that aspect the IP purchase makes sense (I'm sure they have a lot of sci-fi fans who equally lamented the demise of Firefly on their Star Wars Reboot forums etc.), but also that Disney won't release a word one way or the other until they think they can 100% make money on it (500% if they can).
In this regard, they are the Great Alliance and Blue Sun rolled into one, likely with a fair amount of Galactic Empire thrown into the mix :steammocking:
But if the Evil Empire get the job done, I'll sign up to be a 'Purple Belly' Stormtrooper tomorrow! (So long as I get Beta access) :-)

With all the new reboots on disney+ , I don't see why not. Disney loves money and loves reboots and they would love to clean the whole prostitution out of it, There is a fan base, it's perfect for a reboot.

It would be cool if someone were to make an online version of the official board game. I think that's the closest thing to anything Firefly-related in online game form that anyone could ever see.

Not while Darth Kennedy rules there.
