If both (/many) choises/modes would be available in this game then it would appeal to more people and both of the different kinds of players would get what they want. It would be a win-win situation.
I have actually thought about playing Murdered:soul suspects myself, but have not done it for the same reason you mentioned, the demons.. I have never changed a games config file and don't know if it would be too hard for me.. But good to know its possible, I just hope there was an easier way. That's actually a game that has for many players the same problem that this one has, it's mostly non-action but there are a few rare action bits that scare the non-action players away..
If only the monsters' disabled, the game will become a boring vacation-tour game.
Without any expectation of danger, even noob player will definitely explore whole map in one hour.
Everyone is happy :)
There's one place where no matter how or when I approach it, I get insta-killed by the monster. Apparently, I'm not supposed to go that way, at least not yet. But it's annoying to have to keep starting over.
In another place, I'm trapped in a place with NO way out (at least none that I can find in the two seconds it takes for the monster to jump me), and the monster is blocking the ONLY exit, so I can't go back the way I came.
Feeling a tad frustrated right now.
The movie takes u through the story, while a game letting you go through the story by yourself.
I think Fireeye missed the whole point of videogames if you compare it to movies.
But its my imo.
