What triggers act 3?

I wanna get all the achievements I can and get all thecollectable/sites before getting to act 3. But I don't know what triggers act 3?

With as little spoilers as possible, could some explain hat is needed for the game to go into act 3 so I can avoid it?

After visiting all coordinate written on the map, you will notice something different. Go to the first tent area. if you got all notes, the achievement you want pops at the end of act 3.
