why does my game say 'modified'?
Hi, i bought FOTS today in the sale but i have already owned Shogun2 for ages.
When i started up my game i noticed it said 'modded' in the top corner under the version number. It's been a while since i last played S2TW and i can't remember if it used to say 'modded' but i dont think it did.

I've never installed any mods so does anyone know why it says 'modded'?

Also, i was thinking about buying the Saints and Heroes DLC and i want to know if the units appear in both S2TW and FOTS or just S2TW.

Hi there, apparently FoTS changed some things on Shogun 2 graphics wise. Refer to this review from RDonnell on Metacritic: http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/total-war-shogun-2---fall-of-the-samurai/user-reviews
If you have modded in the top corner, go to:

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Shogun2\logs

(YOURUSERNAME is the account name used to log into your pc)

Once there, open the modified.log. Please post the text from there into this thread. It should display the files that have been modded.

hey thanks for the reply,

I did what you asked and here is what it said :
fix_missing_walls.pack unknown file

Now after seeing this i remember now installing something that was supposed to fix castle walls that were either missing or in the wrong place or something like that.

I did it about a year or so ago and had completely forgot about it.
I think at the time i installed it i didn't really think of it as a mod. Has the modded tag feature in the top corner always been there or was it introduced in a later patch?

So do you know anything about this mod? Has CA fixed these castle walls in a patch maybe and if i want to uninstall it do i just look for the fix_missing_walls.pack file and delete it and the modded tag will go away.

Thanks for the help, i totally wasn't expecting someone from CA to reply and sort out my trivial little problem. Kudos to you!!!
The issue with castle walls was fixed some time ago, so deleting the mod you downloaded to fix it should be fine. Please be sure that you only delete the extra file, and if you have any further problems, please don't hesitate to contact me, either here or via our official support forums at : http://forums.totalwar.com/forumdisplay.php/96-Total-War-Shogun-2-Support-Forum
