otomo DLC issue
I bought the otomo pack and got the steam update after that(not online much) than I had a hickup with my power in the middle of the update and now I redownloaded shogun 2 (was corrupted because of the crash) but the otomo DLC isnt showing up on the game, but stills shows up in my account details

I am having a similar issue where the dlc shows up as purchased, but has not been downloaded. I tried to validate the game files through properties/local/validate local game files with no success.

I have the same problem. DLC shows as purched but can't find the clan in Shogun2.

WTF is this

Could you please navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Total War SHOGUN 2\data

Once there, have a look at the .pack files.
You should have the following files:
boot.pack
bp_orig.pack
data.pack
data_fots.pack
local_en.pack
models.pack
models2.pack
movies.pack
movies_fots.pack
movies2.pack
shaders.pack
sound.pack
terrain.pack

If you have any other .pack files that are not listed above, delete them, and then validate Shogun 2. ONLY DELETE .pack files, not any other type.

what about the patchs?
Mithorn Dec 23, 2012 @ 9:28am
Delete the patch.pack files too, I moved them away to a different folder, and then the DLC showed up and worked. So it is working :) Thanks for the tip Nicklaus! :) Merry Christmas to you all! :)

I did it, but the game started to download again after the validation. Is it normal ?

I too have the same problem. While going through the removal of the patch files did show the Otomo DLC, I of course WANT the patches and various game updates applied to the game. I can of course uninstall and try reinstalling everything, but i haven't seen that that fix definitely resolves the problem. If anyone knows more, please let me know. But that Mithorn had moved the files to a different location, while it works as a fix, and saves download time, I would imagine the game reverts to an essentially unpatched version, no? Anyway, any tips would be appreciated, thanks.

So it re-downloads the entire game if I take everything out except the list shown above? After the 13GB 'patch' or whatever the funk it was when I tried to start the game today? And do I lose all the mods I have in the game too? CA, you're really testing my patience here. Why not fix the DLC and let us re-download it again, for free? Or give us something for free for all this crap?

When I moved the patch files, the DLC showed up, but I then had issues with Otomo unit names not being displayed at all and the information about certain buildings that shows up in game wasn't displaying properly. Putting the patch files back in and then loading the save caused the game to crash. Is there any other way of fixing this?

I really don't know how you two are having issues with this. I have Shogun 2/ FotS and all the DLC for both games and this fix solved all my problems with the DLC not appearing.

@Lupus Noctis: I had the same problem for weeks and thought it was mods or something, but it turns out it was that I just missed a "local_en_patch.pack" according to the fix in the 4th post. The quick way to make sure is to just open up the custom battles tab and see if the Otomo specific matchlock units have names. Also it was putting a weird black overlay which is gone now too.

All this did for me was make it not run at all, had to uninstall, then re-install. THANKS.
