Russio-Japanese war DLC?
It would be outstanding if Creative Assembly could add a Russio-Japanese war DLC (1904-1905). I feel Fall of the Samurai didn't show the real 20th century Japan and with a Russio-Japanese war DLC that would change. Between the Boshin war Russio-Japanese war 35 years had completely changed Japan the (Ships the guns and even plolitics.) It would just be a really nice DLC especially the warships wich would be practically be dreadnoughts.

It is a nice idea, but I am sure support for Shogun 2 and additional content has generally ceased. I agree the Boshin War was merely just the tip of the iceberg, but I also think it was intentional. They were't really aiming to show the 20th century rather than the end of the 19th century at this point.

Alas a cool suggestion nonetheless. I love the history of the Russo-Japanese War, but it was also a really short war as well.

That's ok, because Fall of the Samurai took place in the 19th century.

A bit late to expect anything for this outta TCA.

Still, some ingenious modders managed to make a workable, playable Korea in game. So I supposde they might be able to make a Manchuria/Russian Far East, and that could be the map basis. Take FOTS,, modify it a bit, and you'd have a solid base.

good point

Such a mod would be possible, but it requires a lot of work few people are interested in (modellings, texturing, campaign map etc.).

I'm not exactly a modder :winetime::dssmallbird:

These people are probably the world-class experts on it, and the ones most likely to do it. So I'd take it up with them. Though witht her ate it is going, it might be better to start off with a Sino-Japanese War (1894-5) mod and work from there.

I know about that mod

Well, CA may...but for Modders it would be a lot of work to do, and not all aspects of it are moddable, such as Ship Models. (CA even didn't bother to make USS Roanoke's turret rotate; I wouldn't play IJN Mikasa with a stuck Turret)

If anything, I'd say the opposite. Modders are the ones who may do it. They have limited resources, but TCA lacks desire or will to do it. Which is why I mention. Because in the end, history is made by those who show up.

As for not playing the IJN Mikasa with a stuck turret... so, what would you suggest? Autoresolving the naval battles in a hypothetical mod like this?

I'm not a modder and I i've seen your mods (nice job!) but could it really be that hard to make a rotating turrets for the mikasa's 2 turrets
Egro 5. jan. 2015 kl. 17.49
There are no existing rigs for rotating Turrets, so yeah it will be hard because you will need to make it yourself (You'll need to know some animations) and some how insert it into the game. FYI: Shogun II is not a modding friendly game at all.
