Using a trainer/editor (sp)
Would this be safe to do? I'm talking about using a hex-editor for setting resources etc. Obviously it would only be in singleplayer, but is there still a chance you could get vac banned? This game has steam-workshop so i it would be safe, but i'm not sure with vac.

look i dont care what you do ... and i agree with you 100% in a single player game with let us call it god mode...but your problem is vac issue and then i cant say go for it if they scan files that has been alted and you get banned ...but its legal to make mods so why dont you do that instead ....that is not illgal and just require other player have same mod...

problem here is you forget edit files and join a multiplayer... then you have no rights and imo ...you create problem for yourself and all blame is on you ...

Is that something on Workshop? If its not then you probably didnt understand my question, its not that i'm looking for a trainer, necessarily, i could modify myself using an editor, but i need to be 100% sure i dont get vac-flagged for it.

i've read that, but it doesnt have any answers, just speculations and i dont want to take any risks. Imo Vac is a stupid system and if a game has it, i'm less likely to buy it. It doesnt make any game cheat proof, yet it prevents modding of gamefiles for sp.

I never got any problem with my heavily modified Shougun II or the MegaDev trainer.
Of course, I didn't try cheating in MP mode.

I used it when I was just starting the game, it helped me alot to understand how the mechanics worked.

i'm going to go ahead and bump this, no answer yet given. I 'm looking to play Shogun II with a trainer, singleplayer only, will i be banned by VAC or is there a work-around?
