Capturing the Black Ship in new patch.

Has anyone manage to capture the Black Ship on full strength at current patch?

fire bomb kobayas and and those boarding ships. had 2 stacks of ships..

2 Medium Bunes for Shout Debuff chain, 3 Sengoku Bune for boarding chain, rest of navy group use Bow Kobayas for decoy fire from Black Ship's artillery or use Fire Boat Kobayas for a few mines early game (although 3+ mine hits could cause fire and insta-route from full hp black ship), this strat has worked on hard and very hard modes. [i've played 1500+ hours]

Usually when and where do you deploy the mines? I'm interested to see how good players mined the Black Ship. Is there any predicatable behavior from the black ship that I can exploit?

Just a lot of arrow boats and try to make that boat to catch fire. Should work. Same way a.I can win the namba tradeships too.

The fire bomb kobayas greatly demoralizes the crew of the black ship.. 3-4 rounds is usually enough to get him routing then just board him when he does. The hard part is getting the firebomb kobayas close enough to do it's damage because one broadside from the black ship usually send the smaller vessels to their deathbeds under the sea.

I can get firebomb kobaya near enough to bomb the hell out of black ship. It's harder to board it with medium bune that I possess. My tech tree is no where advanced enough to build heavy bune. Theorectically Sengoku Bune would work but they keep routing to the cannons when they tried to approach.

That's why I brought 2 stacks of ships. Most of them retreat on the first volley so I need the extra ships to board it when it starts to route. approach at different angles and block it in. have a boarding ship ready and another one to do the same as soon as he fails. While it is being boarded, bomb it with the firebomb.

So you need to lay a few ships in the path to block it off? I brought 2 stacks of ships too but they never able to catch up to it with the wind...

I'm asking because I used to be able to capture the Black Ship at full strength prior to the latest patch. I would like to know how the players usually get their own personal flagship of the time period. : )

get nanban trade ship

The black ship usually stands and fight instead of running away. You can use the speed boost from your bow kobayas to cut him off initially before your other ships arrive.
