Date Nodachi tips?
Hi I just started playing TWS2 and playing as the Date. Was just wondering how you guys employ your Date No-Dachi or just No-Dachis in genereal.

With the Nodachi Samurais having low defensive stats, I think they're too vulnerable for a first wave attack with the Yari Ashigarus/Katana especially with the enemy AIs fielding Yari+Bow ashigarus. Instead I use them as sort of slow flankers where they would often be on the wings of the formation to attack clashing peasants on the side.

But then again the game says they're "shock troops", does it mean they're for first line? To tear a hole on the middle of the clashing ashigarus to put up an opening for more opportunities?

Your thoughts and tips would be appreciated.

Nodachi have great melee attack and charge stats. They can kill the enemy unit very fast with 1 charge.
Later nodachi samurai also have "Banzai" skill, they can fight without dropping morale, sometimes they will fight until the last man standing.

But the weakest point of nodachi is armour. Having 2 armour make them vulnerable against missile, they can easily get kill by rain of arrows, so use it wisely....try to dodge arrow....

I would say you should use them for flanking or to "Hold off" a weak side of you so you have more time to react.

Heavy units move up first as meat shields then order your no-dachi do a mad charge => kill everything that move => win! Use No-dachi for their shock value, they can reduce the over all enemy's morals by take hundred of heads but after their first charge they are kind of useless because of heavy lost.

Meatshield is good, but doesn't have to be a heavy unit, way easier to use yari ashigaru as meatshiel, because if they die, you can create them in every castle again.

Do NOT let them be attacked by ranged units
DO hit enemies in a flank with them and watch the kills skyrocket
