Every startup, game "configures microsoft visual c++ 2005 redistributable"

On every startup, Shogun wants to "configures microsoft visual c++ 2005 redistributable". It's more than a little annoying, and increases my effective load time by a significant amount.

I'm running windows 8.

Any ideas on how to prevent this?

win8 and 8,1 and win10

goto - controll panel - click windows update, all that auto update dont seem to work or you dont know / bother with what windows says is recommended..they are critical for a gamer not for the system..and that is what is wrong here

you dont need to prevent it you need to fix it, if you are not administrator this will never work

another shogun2 user went into the files and edit the 64bit issue and remove the 32 bit and told us it actual work. so game dont check for wrong version. ( only 1 person did this. so its a rare problem )

OK I'm not messing with it but the 70 second load times do make me think twice about whether I want to play it. Thanks.

I have a reasonable system with an 8 core AMD CPU and a and a1080 video card and a long load time is normal. once the game boots every thing is fine, I use a 65" HDMI 4k 3D for a monitor and the game sets graphics on high and ultra which makes me think thats what causes the long load time....17 seconds....whats your hurry....
