To take advantage of the unique abilities of the Chosokabe, you will obviously want to concentrate on building bow ashigaru, then bow samurai once you have more money. There is a province on the north end of Kyushu that will give you even better archers, as well as one on Honshu that is not too far away from your starting position. Make sure to take advantage of your farms as well. You have a percent boost to farm income, which means the more you upgrade farms, the bigger your economy boost. Since you are near several trade nodes, it's also worth building a trade fleet and grabbing some of those (the silk one is best, since you need silk for legendary archers).

pretty much what the last person said really, if you can go for a defensive battle in most cases then do it, the chosokabe bows are ridiculously good, if you can get Chosokabe bow warrior monks then good luck to anyone against you

If you can win as Tukugawa easily then tbh you do not need tips when playing as Chosokabe, same goes for Shimazu and Otomo. Simply destroy Kono,Sogo and Miyoshi with your stacks and disband your armies once you captured the entire Shikoku, then just keep trading, upgrading farms and mass samurais, once you are ready invade and conquer entire Kyoshu, trigger realm divide then push brainlessly to the east, that how I did mine legendary Chosokabe campaign.

I had very big army with daimyo and I just couldn't beat some christian east clan and Oda got so damn big and they took Kyoto and everybody declared war on me not them o.O ... I remember when I became shogun with Tokugawa clan everybody declared war on me ...I lost with Chosokabe clan -.-

I suspect you need to move faster then and quickly take over the starting island. Then expand by making a landing down where Shimazu start and expand from there. Funding should be supported at least initially from taking over the euro trade ports which is also handy later in the campaign as it is continued income even after everyone hates you post realm divide.
