What's with the invincible parrot guns?
Has this happened to anyone else?

Had 5 AI parrot guns limbered and moving and charged with Calvary and shot with line INF and they literally took ZERO casualties.....eventually this DID route. My Cav WAS taking Casualties, though

The crazy thing is two dudes were still still dueling....post right....like.....forever...

Anyone else had this happen?

This is my first time ever playing Fall of the Samurai

I dunno but when units are routing they can sometimes bug out and seem to become invincible. Pretty sure I've seen it when units were moving cannons around. As long as you won the battle and this bug doesn't cause you to lose the battle then it's no big deal.

I've seen a parrot gun take out a single yari ki before. By the time I noticed what was happening, it was too late to do anything but let them die. But I learned from it.

This is caused by the unit health formula. Undeveloped artillery units' health are based on cannons, while developed ones have their health base on soldiers. When developed artillery units route, sometimes their health is still calculated by the cannons.

Cannons has a lot more health than a single soldier units, and melee combat in this game is always 1 on 1, this is why cavalry can barely do any damage to the artillery until it is developed.

Best ways to kill enemy artillery is by shooting your own cannon at it, or using volley fire from your infantry. You should only send your cavalry when the enemy's artillery is developed, which means its health is based on the soldiers it has.

By developed, do you mean end game arty or do you mean unlimbered?

Probably a pretentious way of saying unlimbered, yes. Solid advice though. Carbine cavalry is good for killing retreating artillery.
Deployed, not developed
