Darth Mod (Steam Workshop version)
More Campaign Years
Recruitable Generals
I've also tried the following workshop mods in addition to those from the recommended collection:
No upstart generals
Extra Skill points for generals
And it should also be noted that I've manually installed the "fixed sounds" file recommended in the Darth Mod info (by dropping the "sounda_fixed.pack" file directly into my "SteamApps/common/Total War Shogun 2/Data" folder). That doesn't work either (bows still sound like rifles).
I'd really like to know what is happening here. This is what I've checked so far:
1) Made sure I started from a completely fresh "Total War Shogun 2" install
2) Checked it is fully updated to the most recent version (v1.1.0)
3) Subscribed to mods via the Workshop
4) Checked that the mods are ticked in the Mod Manager on start-up
5) Checked that the relevant ".pack" files are present in the Data folder
6) Tried running with each mod present on their own (i.e. with only a single mod ticked in the Mod Manager) to check for incompatibilities.
7) Ran a full "Verify Integrity of Game files" check via the right-click game "Properties" menu.
None of the above works. Nada. Zilch.
So, can anyone tell me why my game won't run with mods? When I start the game it does say "(modded)" in the top-right hand corner but...er... it isn't :)
My problem was I activated a mod that completely made all my other ones incompatible with it thus telling me it was a modded version but I couldnt see them.
I just deactivated the "Beta" mod and verified Cache then it worked...Not sure this will help, look through the folders
i have tried to help Keksimus Maximus in other post, and i can only help people if english os
and if you want another steam users to try figure is out contact me, but do read other post first maybe you dont have exactly same issue as me or Keksimus Maximus had
there are many steam user in diffrent games that complain over mods dont work,
problem here is without someone actual try get access and if we can find a pattern somewere this will take ages to locate it, and problem is also trust and help others
but the real support is steam support and sega, and that can take a long time for them to figure it out, if this is persky bug that is either our fault or steams workshop
ps.
found a post possibility issue, maybe ?
what windows languages does people have ?
technical issue
because userdata is store in our names and if none english typos is there that can be a issue
this require alot of userdata privat input and knowledge of it, im not saying geee it took me 4 sec to spot this but problem here is dont write user name but say country in os is none english system.
i have a danish os and no problem here, anymore ( problem gone and solved 1-2years ago )
i really doubt that is it, but it will actual make sense why it can't create it, if name is illigal if none standard letters is use.
-------------------------------------------copy solution from net
Update:
Some people claim that setting the date and time on the computer (and/or in BIOS) to the correct one fixes the problem.
-------------------------------------------
ps.
this is not possible if windows time has auto adjust set and right timezone
the bios update issue is another matter
1.1 - Unzip the downloaded archive
1.2 - Put the files *** pack. In C: \ Program Files \ Steam \ SteamApps \ common \ total war shogun 2 \ data
(or they would be there if u subbed for mod in workshop)
1.3 - Prescribe mod file in user.script.txt (create if it's not here) which is located at:
the Windows XP - C: \ Documents and Settings \ (Your User Name Here) \ Application Data \ The Creative Assembly \ total war shogun 2 \ scripts directory
the Windows 7 \ Vista - C: \ Users \ (Your User Name Here) \ AppData \ Roaming \ The Creative Assembly \ total war shogun 2 \ scripts directory
1.4-After making changes, save user.script.txt in Unicode format.
1.5- Launch the game. Check mods in the modLauncher. Start.
Prescribing:
mod ***.pack; where "***" - the name of a specific file
Example of user.script.txt:
mod ornamentum.pack; <---- u need " ; " at the end!
Wow, forgot I still had this discussion up. Anyways, thank you for the suggestion on a how-to, I will try it out as soon as possible and reply here if it works.
Only question is, do I find the mods online on a website or can I download them from workshop and find in the Steam folders?
Please note that this behaviour depends on your security settings and is not recommended to change it.
Also, this problem usually occurs with manualy modded games and Workshop mods shouldn't be affected, but it's worth a try even for them.
