Conquering a vassal
Is there any way to conquer a vassal without losing honour? I am still quite early in the game, and my vassal has run its usefulness. The province would be far more useful if I owned it at this point, but I really don't want to harm the diplomatic relations with the other clans. Is this unavoidable?

I can only think of 2 ways the vassal can be killed without involving yourself.

1. Have an enemy kill your vassal.
2. Incite a rebellion and hope it kills them. If it doesn't the first time, then don't do so again. They're defensive army will just get stronger. Unless you area able to incite it right after the rebels defeat.

Usually you don't want vassals until after RD. RD has all clans have (-) diplomacy points with you.

Number 2, its a tried and tested shogun 2 tactic I even do it to friendlys, just make sure you have the agent high enough so he dosen't get caught.
