Normal and High settings not available

Hey I just got Shogun 2 FOTS and for some reason he graphics setting are only available on low and it looks like crap! I know it's capable of looking good so any suggestions?

If you've got integrated graphics, make sure the game's not using that rather than your GFX card.

yes go to your nividea settings and select powerful nvidea graphic card instead of automatic or integrated selection, hope this helps ;)

Some games block graphic options your graphics card is not capable of. Or your drivers/DirectX are outdated etc.

Get rid of Windows 8 & you will be fine. Windows 8 sucks. I am staying on 7 until 9 is released.

On Windows 8 press the window key + R at the same time to open your run cammand, then type in explorer.exe and hit enter.

then you'll notice the guy in the YouTube video at 1:35 is clicking a hidden folder, you'll have to unhide those within Window's setting, just google "how to show hidden files in Win 8"+^_^+ then follow the above video's instructions to access the config file

Understand this may cause your game to run slowly or crash if you have a subpar video card

or if you want to access your Nvidia control panal, after hitting Win key + R, type in Nvidia Control Panel, or if your using an AMD Radeon video card, type in AMD Catylyst Control Center

It worked! Thank you all for your support, especially Chik' Tikka Quick and Xsonic. All of your advice was valuable but these two combined is what fixed it.
