Parrot and Armstrong crews near invencible
Is there a fix for this? The AI is just spamming full stacks of those and i cant kill them.

A single crew of Parrot takes from 4-6 volleys to get killed, and they obliterate anyone in melee

Have you considered going heavy cav and flanking thier position and running them down from behind?
kirths Jun 14, 2014 @ 5:18pm
Thay kill the cav on melee, i dont have the money for that anymore, just lost after 3 clans teamed to siege my last city(2800 vs 9000 and they just maked it starve to death).

Using kisho ninjas(120 bombs in total) i can kill half of their crew, and by going melee i can make them rout, loosing my ninjas to other enemy units.

There is a bug, when they mount the cannon, they are almost invencible. But a sable cav would kill them. They just need a little bit.

When limbered, the crew's HP become unified - If you kill one, all drop dead. In another word, they become a superorganism with combined HP of 4 men, 2 horses, and a cannon.

Which is annoying.

Maybe it could be fixed by modifying hp values of artillery in battle_entities?
The_Yogi Jun 15, 2014 @ 6:13am
Nope, the problem isn't the HP value itself - The Problem is that The Game merge the HP while limbered.

Strange, I've never encountered the AI clans using a large number of canons. But if I did since it's relatively easy to make stupid amounts of money in FOTs I usually have so much that I'd simply bribe this stack out of existence if I encountered it.

IM trying a Tsu campaign in very hard and I cant almost mantain half army until i conquer the rebel probince, nex turn my ally get in a war against 2, next turn it dies leaving me with their war and obama, the kyoto clan and one to my right declare war on me.

1 full stack of units every 2 turns, and the ai team up to have 2-3 tacks at my castle. after 20 turns more or less the stacks are half shogitai, half parrot.

I dont get to have much money there ;_;, i just use revolver cavalary because they can shoot two shogitais before running out of ammo

I'd suggest taking a look at this thread for some ideas, it's been awhile since I played them, all I can recall is what I usually do when I start in a hard position, counter attack. I don't initiate things when I'm in a hard spot.

And given we're talking FOTS here I've also switched allegiances on occasion to buy myself some time, usually the other clans around you will not suprisingly switch eventually too because the programming appears determined to keep you surrounded there.

I also tend in all campaigns to use a lot of ash, numerical numbers work wonders when going into battle, quantity can overcome quality here.

One other thought might be to drop down one difficulty level, test out various approaches, find a couple that feel fairly sound and then move back up to the higher difficulty level and implement them and see if they still hold true.

I completely anihilate the AI in high, to the point its not fun anymore(i played 400+hours ), just decided to play very high and the difficulty surprised me :p

There are many ways to make the game difficult though, not just the difficulty settings themselves.

For example, play by ironman rules. Everyone talks a big game about how great they are against the AI, only they leave out the fact that they reload constantly.
