Any success with luring enemy armies into ambushes?
Because for me at least, its dam hard to do so.

Currently playing my Jozai campaign (can't recall if its hard or very hard difficulty). Because they're called "the Hidden Warriors," even going so far as having a bonus called Guerilla Warfare and a special unit meant for it, I wanted to roleplay a bit by trying to achieve an ambush.

And thats where the problem is at.

Nothing seems to work to get the enemy army's (in this case, Nagoaka) attention and have them fall into my trap: for bait I tried to siege their last city; have a vulnerable unit in one of the passes in the campaign map; have one of my cities undefended, etc. Nothing works at all. It just walks around in its last province and continues to gather troops. Very fustrating. Ofc in reality plans don't always work but its just very hard to manipulate the A.I. into their own undoing. I feel that it often does not work the way I want it and its more by chance.

Anyone else?

You sure they didn't spot your army?

They were in the hidden stance, and sent them to the trees where they can do an ambush. There are times where they do get spotted next turn but even then, the A.I. doesn't bother attacking at all.

It only works when an enemy clan is actively trying to take your provinces. Some clans just stay within their own borders and never come out to attack. Ambushing is real easy once you get the hang of it. I use it all the time because it is very effective, especially against a superior force.

Also, try leaving a bait, a single unit in the road, the enemy might try to kill him and it will fall into your ambush.
But place then behind or they will be attack and you will reinforce then instead of ambushing!

Exactly one of the things I tried to do. Was not successful like the other baits I employed.

Okay its super easy for me to ambush the AI (if the terrain alows it)

Just enter in their land leave a general behind and they will fly to him.
The AI most of the times fall for this one, but you army in the second row of trees ont he campaign map that you can move.
If you leave them in the edge they are most likely to be spoted.

When they are trying to advance just leave the army in the place they will go throw.

Also can someone leave a guide how to fight in a ambush?
I usually win them but I can get trough a single one without felling I did bad or I slost too many mans.

If just feel weak because I leave my army splited in 2 and the AI just goes with a massive charge with cavarly at one side and the other just wipes the enemy and the only thing that can save the weak side is a rush to the enemy back.

So this is my ambush agaisnt a huge army while I also have one
