Lavasoft Web Companion.

For those of you are having issues with the client crashing at the splash screen since the last freeweekend, try uninstalling Lavasoft Web Companion.

Seeing lots of suggestions regarding the removal of McAffes Web Advisor and not having it, I looked for similar software and after uninstalling Lavasoft's Web Companion the game booted up. Coincidence? Maybe, but it worked for me.

Thankyou going to try that now,i thought i didnt tick that box when i installed its stable mate adaware ok i had a feeling as it seemed to happen the same day i installed those....going to check pc now,or send it back a week...fingers crossed.

nah,it didnt work for me,i couldnt send my pc back nmore than 30 hours?so that wasnt worth trying,I dont see web companion anywhere...and deleted geforce experience/adaware,and still it hangs at start.It semms since they added that option to change the direct x which it didnt have before did it?it doesnt work.

please contact sega/CA with it , so they make a faq inside steam shogun2 game forum

Deleted lavasofts ad-aware and unfortunately if it was that,the damge has been done,as ive replaced it with AVG,and still it wont get past "Shogun2" just after the dx 9 or dx11 choice

maybe contact Lavasoft for better solution if that is the problem
