Shogun 2 Not responding at first loading screen

I have just gotten this game today and when I star, and select 9-11 DirectX the game will start and go to the first loading screen where it stops, and nothing happens

i have the same problume it says there is a problume that has couse the program to stop working do u have this message?

Same problem, really annoying because it was so expensive.

Yes it says That the program stopped working after about 3 minutes of loading

Aparently alot of people fixed this by uninstalling mcafee web adviser, something to do with it detecting the shogun 2 encyclopedia as a hardful programme.
Trouble is I have no real time anti virus running because real time anti virus's annoy me.
No idea why it isn't running.

please provide spec of your computer. and Do you have the following:
1) McAfee web Advisor
2) Win 10
3) Do you have dual video card. intel with amd, or intel with nvidia.

Windows 10, no McAfee and single video card.

Window's 10 also shouldn't be the issue, it occurs to many people running Win7, Win8 and Win8.1

1) make shogun 2 runs on administrative rights, and change to run it on win7 compatible mode.

2) update ur video card driver and you should be ready.

Currently in my highly competetive desktop it wouldn't work with a mcafee virus, but in my low to mid range Toshiba laptop with kaspersky antivirus it worked somehow. I wonder if it really is the mcafee webadvisor doing the trouble...... The question is how important is the mcafee webadvisor??? i'd rather keep it rather playing a game.... any thoughts on this guys?? am i missing any tech pearls? ... will be glad if you share your thoughts,, but please be civil enough for a creative criticism please .. thank you.... hope my ideas help others as well

Video driver didn't need any updates and compatibility mode didnt do anything.
But checking the ticking the "Run this programme as administrator" then running it through steam made it work for some profound reason.

I have windows 7, no McAfee and I have (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M) Version 359.06 All video card drivers are up to date

im having the same problem, will i be able to reinstall the mcafee if i delete it
