Shattered Unit just killed my General
A shattered Unit of Yari Ashigaru just killed my general after the battle was already won lol.
Never ran into that bug before

This bug is not 100% triggered by yari wall formation so I can't tell you how to avoid it. You need to watch the battlefield carefully in case a bugged unit of yari ashigaru kills your general when you think you already won the battle.

Are you certain it was the ashigaru that did that and not a friendly ranged unit?

Yeah it was just the General and the Ashi unit, was running them down after victory

Generally I just end the battle after winning and let it automatically finish off the routed enemy, because it's quite boring to lead the general bodyguard hunt down fleeing enemies on the wide battlefield, no to mention it's not absolutely safe from being killed by the bug

Sometimes if you chase down units with cavalry you can lose a few models, I have seen it happen with my light cavalry which I use every game, I not sure what causes it, it could be chasing units into forest area's... you just got unlucky the model that died happened to be general.

It's seems just more frequent than befor.
It happened time ago also with my own ashigaru killing my cavalry.
Usually are few death , and cavalry rarelly get high level in training anyway.

You ran your cavalry into a bunch of guys running around with long pointy sticks and you're surprised it didn't work out well?

It's a rare occurence because most of the routing unit's melee power disappears as it runs away, but there's still a small threat because spears are such a hard counter to cavalry. And yes, your missile units won't cause a lot of friendly fire damage but it still happens a bit. Matchlock units can definitely damage your troops. Donderbuss cavalry in particular will destroy your units if you don't manage them properly.

It could also be a fault of the matched combat, its something I only see with cavalry and it seems highly situational and rare. like if cavalry get into a matched pair with a shattered yari ashigaru (forest area's are potentially more likely because of tree obstructions) the game can award a kill to the ashigaru, even though they are shattered and should not fight back. in open terrain I have never seen it, or payed attention, if its happened at all, since you only lose a few models, only witnessed it properly in a forest battle.

Yeah I just charged my general directly into a yariwall and was confused why it didn't work out. Thank you for clearing that up that you shouldn't do that because thats was exactly my problem. :AngrySword:
