What are you expecting in the way of a response?

I've no such issue, don't share your opinion, so, I guess my advice would be get over it or move on.

improperly adjusting the video setting, will caused quality dissatisfactory, lag, hanged and may "quit programs and not working". Based on ur video card, try setting the following,
1) Partical effect set "medium", 2) texture filtering set "8x or 16x",
3) texture quality- "medium" or "high" 4) Depth of field- "low" or "off"
5) Shader Model- set to shader model 4 or 4.1
6) Unit detail- "high" 7) Building detail- "high"
8) tree, grass, water set to high
Do not need to use "soft shadow", "vigrette"
If you have tearing effect, check vertical sync.

Go to "brightness and Gamma", Make sure the right box, the sad face is nearly disappear in the white box. Your game should look better and smooth. Good Luck

I play this game on lowest graphics and I don't care. This game is about strategy not about hyper-super graphics, I don't get why these spoiled kids are always crying about graphics.....just play the game.

Besides that, I find your graphics totally fine! If this is an issue for you, you might not play games, better go and watch a movie or something.

Ffs I don't understand your hostility. I simply want the game as it should be. I doubt they made it with fuzzy texts.

Useless comment, thanks a lot mate.

It has nothing to do with good/bad graphics, it has to do with sharpness. There is obviously something wrong with the image and it's very specific. I can spend some time admiring the graphics as the units move in front of the camera but I then have to go back to the campaign map and see fuzzy city names, fuzzy advices etc.

And about the "spoiled crying kids", I don't see why you would be lead to that conclusion so quickly. I actually prefer playing Medieval II total war at this point and I do. You just didn't even bother.

Thanks for the reply bkkm12. I think I did fix the paleness, that was actually easy and my oversight. The fuzziness however isn't affected by any change whatsoever. Is it maybe a problem of resolution? I play it in 1360x768.

What IS your problem? We play the same games can't you see? Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, Medieval Total War etc. This has nothing to do with graphics. If you had the same problem you'd be here too but you don't.

I checked your screenshots, and my game doesn't look much different. If you don't like the graphics, go for some graphic changes and/or update your graphic-card driver. You claim you could never enjoy the game and then come up with screenshots that show a totally normal game....that's why I think you are just a spoiled brat....

I could get used to the graphics. I love the Total War series and Shogun seems quite different. But I rarely play one game at a time and reverting from viewing normal texts to Shogun's keeps putting me off.

Anyway I've searched the official forums and have found that it's a problem with certain resolutions (as I thought).
https://forums.totalwar.com/discussion/8702/small-interface-font
There is a mod in TWC but it is currently inactive and with no download links.
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?532734-Bigger-Font-for-Fall-of-The-Samurai-amp-Sengoku-RotS
For those of you who have the same problem I'll post here if the mod get re-uploaded. Mr.Healthy & easytarget you should probably stay away from the forums, you're not helping anyone.

The hostility is because you're a dumbass worrying about the appearence of a strategy game.

You're probably playing with a cruddy video card like me. This game will run on some pretty bad graphics cards, but it will look terrible. With my laptop's graphics card, Medieval 2 actually looks far better than this game. The unit's in Shogun 2 look like they are running around wearing colorful blurry pajamas, and in comparison the unit's in Medieval 2 look pretty much like they do on the Steam page and I can run it with the highest settings without problem.

On my PC, which is in another house, the graphics look pretty much the same as they do on the Steam page as long as I set it to the highest settings.

Unfortunately this also means that the "blood pack" DLC is barely funtional on my laptop as well. I occasionally see decapitations and I hear the unique sounds, but otherwise nothing. Probably a wasted purchase until I get my PC back.

---------------
Also, to the people trying to start trouble here. Grow the hell up. The TC paid for the game. If they want to ask for help troubleshooting a graphical problem with it, that's their perogative. They aren't complaining about how the game sucks due to bad graphics, they are asking for help making the graphics look how they should. Learn the difference.

What type/size of monitor are you using? Is 1360x768 the optimal resolution for it? Have you tried others such as 1366x768?

1) Ignore them, the best thing to do.

2) I'm using an AMD Graphics card and I think it's the best for this game. I saw in several forums that it's a problem with resolutions and I don't experience any problems in the battles. The campaign map is the problem. It is exactly how you describe it however, I could easily just revert to Third Age Total war and kills some goblins in sharp old graphics :P

Sadly my monitor tops at 1360x768 :/
It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ monitor
bkkm12 Feb 1, 2016 @ 8:23am
follow my instruction, and you are almost there. Your graphic card is a mid range graphic card. But for this game, it is certainly quality. You should never get a blurry or mist and unclear quality. But your monitor is definitely responsible for certain degree because it only allows you to a normal resolution which i told you to lower down some setting. Even you set too high quality game setting, ur monitor can't display it. It is not do any good, and become bad.
