you mean just let all the province rebel and take them back ? its gonna take a while haha
First, when you change religion you lose two honor. This is a problem because low honor gives negative happiness across all provinces. You can counteract this by keeping a garrison on all of your provinces. Ashigaru are perfect for this role.
Second, you will lose access to all monk units and agents, and you won't have immediate access to missionaries. Until then, use your other agents to keep the population in check. Keep in mind that you have a limited number of agents, so the sooner you convert, the easier it will be to keep all of your provinces covered.
Third, all temples will become useless because they give happiness only if you are buddhist. Raze them to the ground, and rush as many churches as possible. Buildings that give happiness also help. Worst case scenario, lower your taxes for a few turns.
thanks. but its too late i think. already set the tax at the lowest and all over the provinces still red. maybe ill just start over with other clan and finish that save when im in the mood. hahaha
You likely not producing enough food. Make sure you have enough fields & positive food balance. Demolish food-expensive castles
The left side of the chi tech tree will help with public order and conversion rates but it takes forever to unlock the best techs. Any other chi tech that increases happiness or repression or daimyo honor are very useful as well, and most are easier to attain. Sword Hunt takes a while to get but gives +2 repression which is very handy for a Christian clan.
Missionaries are extremely powerful at causing rebellions because rather illogically rebellions are more likely to happen when a province has less of your religion. So a province that is 100% Buddhist is way easier to cause a Christian rebellion than a province that is 100% Christian. Because about 95% of the provinces are usually Buddhist you can just go around causing endless rebellions and turn the entire map into a gray rebel wasteland. Then once you have better public order you can go conquer all that rebel land easily.
