Odd (not so) random crashes

So the past weeks I played several vanilla campaigns, completed the Oda, Takeda and Tokugawa and now while playing Shimazu I get random crashes.
There were none in the other campaigns, so that is the odd thing.
First crash was a small siege battle and now several rounds later is the next and I can't finish the round anymore because it crashes always at the same time.

It wasn't activated. I reloaded an older save and it now works fine again. Was probably just bugged. Still, thanks for the anwer.

Can you people run mods?
I am trying to run the game after a 3 to 4 year pause and can't get them to run.
have changed the install folder to another drive still crashes
