Delete the user.script file located in this directory:

C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Shogun2\scripts\

Note: AppData is a hidden folder - ensure view hidden items is enabled when navigating to it.

Note: User is a default name for the directory, your username may be different on your computer.

How were you able to find the file? I searched & couldn't.

Also, I noticed the audio does not work at all once loaded into the game.
I have uninstalled, multiple times & ensure all mods were removed before retrying.

Was able to load into a custom battle; however, still no audio.

Do you mean that the file user.script was not in the scripts folder or do you mean that you were not able to locate the scripts folder?

If the former, then the user.script file is not your problem.

If the latter, then you need to check the hidden items box on the view tab of file explorer. Alternatively you can press Win + R to open Run; type %appdata% in the box and press Enter. This will take you to the Roaming folder and from there you can navigate to \The Creative Assembly\Shogun2\scripts\

Un-installing / Re-installing the game will not resolve your problem. The files that are most likely causing your problem are not removed by un-installing the game.

If you have no user.script file, then navigate to
C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Shogun2\
as before.

Make back up copies of any screen shots, and save game files that you want to keep, then delete the Shogun2 folder and all its sub-folders.

Go to Steam and verify your game files, allow it to download any missing files, then launch the game.
